What I have heard has more to do with cost than with treatment success. Because they are a 'for profit' organization and because they provide services that are not necessiarily covered by insurance or medicare, I understand that the out of pocket costs can be more than some can deal with. If you explore this further, just make sure that you check out this aspect before you make any commitment.

I agree with the above answer. I used to work for an insurance company and it was a nightmare trying to help the patients because even the setting the care was provided was different than we would cover. For example a patient would have an outpatient procedure we would cover but then they would have them recover in a hotel like setting which was not covered.

I believe in the holistic approach they provide but I have been able to coordinate much of the same care through support groups and services covered by insurance or through discount programs. It is more work but I am extremely worried about finances.

I researched them a little on the internet when my wife was diagnosed. While there were some good reviews, the vast majority of reviews were negative, especially in the areas of finance and false hopes. A quick google search could give you a look into them...

sounds like sour grapes to me ctca is a private cancer center they take many different insurance all except government and well now a days lost a drs are even not accepting some government plans ie medical medicade etc.
My out of pocket was not to bad with my insurance after i pay 7 k out of pocket it is all 100%
I had 5 surgeries there 13 rounds of chemo I got nutritional support learned what foods can actually feed my cancer i got emotional support from the staff and my team of doctors. If more cancer centers treated their people that good it would be nice. i received hope and a dr who would fight for me who not only listened to what I said but heard me and i was a part of the dession making process.
I was NOT exposed to costly unnessary tests as with the drs i was dealing with before i went to ctca ordered everything from an MRI to a PET scan the other dr wanted to chop of my breast just to be on the safe side... at CTCA i only lost the one that had cancer in it.
I go to the center in tulsa I am a 3 year survivor and every 6 months they fly me to Tulsa I am currently In Ga.
CTCA gives you hope the jerks at the other place told me I was dying.
I have seen some amazing stuff happen there stage4 b/c she was so bad her skin was oranger her liver was shutting down she was in a wheel chair and looked like death warmed up but they gave her HOPE Hope is an amazing things they did not say she was going to die but they did tell her they were not going to stop until she said to I had weekley chemo each week the process I saw her make gave me the courage to go on by the end of my chemo she was out of the wheel chair walking and looked human she is in full remission...
Some centers do not give you the edguacation that we need to k fight this bastated so we end up feeding our cancer at ctca I am off all process food ok i slip once in a while but i eat better i no longer drink soda . i feel better I can call then 24/7 with a question and they get right back to me of they do not have the answer

before i heard them nasty words we lost over 9 people in a short period of time to cancer uncle went to md anserson mom in law went to another places and so fourth they are all dead so far knock wood I am still here.
reviews are good but need to be taken with a grain of salt espically on the internet to many sour grapes so to get to the truth you need to talk to a person who went there. EVen the family of people who did not survive will tell you how they were treated. I have NEVER heard of anyone having finical issue with them as a matter of fact a friend of mines from high school hubby stage 3 hokins their dr gave him little time so they went to ctca he lost his job and ctc waved their copayment. I have never heard CTCA promis me that i was going to live they promised me they were gonna h elp me fight the XXX in me and that no man had a right to tell me when I was going to die only GOD knows that day. Once you tell a person they are going to die they go home and GIVE UP and DIE. CTCA does not let you give up hope! Hope is amaing if u have a dr who is putting a time limit on ur life tell them by by and go find a dr who will help you LIVE not prepare for you to die! my other places was helping me to die.
People get XXX off that they have no insurance or medicade and ctca does not take them so they go out and bash them and that really upset me to no end the staff at ctca fight for each person there and to say XXX about then=m is wrong. ctca is a Private center did you know that quite a few hospitals are no longer accepting medicade or medical?
There is no law that says they have to accept it unless you are a state funded hospital.
and really do you blame dr and hospitals who no longer acept medical? they never get paid! Hospitals dr they are all businesses...
We let people walk around with a mouth full of rotten teath that is bad for their health yet they have no insurance to get them fixed yet I do not hear anyone bashing dentists becasue they do not take goverm=nment ins and rotten teeth do cause massive health issue.

In the list of top 100 cancer hospitals generated by US News and World Report, CTCA did not make the list. You can draw a conclusion from that.

I'm currently a patient there and I love it! They helped us deal with insurance and out of pocket costs. We learned more in three days there than we did here in Buffalo at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

I think it's a great place though Cancer Centers of America! I met a lot of people from all over there and, stay in contact with a lot of them. God Bless and, don't stop fighting or give up put your faith in trust in the Lord! God Bless

My experience with them is pretty negative as they have an 8 week waiting list for initial visits for patients on medicare. My best friend is a nurse-practitioner and she spoke with one of their representatives at some length. She felt they stacked the deck in their own favor (to have a high success rate) by only taking younger patients (fit with discouraging medicare patients, who are mostly over 65). She actually told the man that she felt the selection of patients seemed unethical and we never even got to the part where I could or could not pay supplemental costs as I have additional insurance.

I think anyone who has to advertise on TV for cancer patients can't be that great but I called anyways. They read word for word from the internet the answer I called about something that I already researched myself. I told them I could read it myself from MAYO......
