Doing a search for "Protocel" in our experiences tab, I get the following results. Maybe this will help until we get more answers
Has anyone taken protocel as an alternative therapy?
Hi walshmeister. What stage is your pancreatic cancer?
I have looked around at alternative therapies for my dad, who was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic adenocarcinoma last year. I'm open to new things, but the only thing I really found that looked worthwhile was combining certain oils with the chemotherapy to possible improve it's effectiveness. As far as protocel, that looks like nothing worthwhile. Sometimes a good place to start is with popular complimentary and alternative medicine sites, like drweil.com He at least has the science background to go with it. Here is what he had to say about protocel http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/QAA400820/Protocel-A-Bogus-Cancer-Cure.html
Here are some tips from the National Cancer Institute regarding searching for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine. http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/cam I agree with their statement, "It is important that the same scientific evaluation that is used to assess conventional approaches be used to evaluate CAM therapies," because you want to see evidence that something has worked. Otherwise, you could end up with drawers full of things you wasted money on, while you get sicker anyway.
If you need help with a little research on something you come across, I recommend the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network PALS, who will communicate with you one-on-one, and can help you look things up. http://www.pancan.org/section_facing_pancreatic_cancer/oneonone_support/ They may have experience with things, and know just what you're talking about.
Best wishes to you.
I am sorry but the above answer from FreeBird contains much misinformation, from both Dr. Weil and the NCI. I am also sorry that that answer has lasted over 2 years without any correction. Many people have died over that period, some, no doubt, by following that bad advice. To properly answer the original question, I would have to provide several attachments, which this answering system does not permit. They would include NCI's test results, produced in 1990 when it tested Cancell (what Protocel was known as in 1990) on several different cancers in vitro. In every case Cancell stopped the cancer growth and in many case killed 90 to 100% of the cancer cells in just 48 hours (the length of the tests).
This is what the NCI falsely says about its 1990 tests on its website:
"The NCI performed another series of tests in 1990 and 1991 using human cancer cells and again did not find enough anticancer activity to warrant further testing."
Not true. The truth of what those tests actually revealed is found in the 560-page book, The Complete Guide to Alternative Cancer Treatments, which says on page 105 the following:
"By 1990, the NCI finally agreed to test Sheridan's formula with its stringent laboratory procedures, using a variety of cancer cell lines in Petri dishes ('in vitro'). The results were impressive and showed that the formula worked on all cancer cell lines tested. These cancer cell lines included leukemia, non-small cell lung cancer, small cell lung cancer, colon cancer, central nervous system cancer [i.e. brain cancer], melanoma, ovarian cancer, and renal cell (kidney) cancer. (People who have used it have reportedly found it to work on virtually every other type of cancer as well.)"
Space does not permit me to share the many case studies of people with all different kinds of cancer who today are cancer-free after taking Cancell or Protocel for just a few months. It may not be a cure-all, but it has helped thousands of cancer sufferers. I have a Facebook album with a lot of information about it. Go to www.facebook.com/John2028, send me a Friend request, and after I confirm it, you will see ALL my albums, including the one on Protocel. Just know that I don't sell it and am not connected to anyone who does, but I know where you can get it. I found out about it from my sister, who used it to help her mother-in-law who had lung cancer.
