Dont know the answers. Actually looking for some myself. Just diagnosed with malignant cancer of lymph nodes in the neck yesterday. Getting PET scan this Friday to see where it came from and where it is. Surgery in a couple of weeks to bet a better biopsy. Xray said lung was clear but I guess PET will tell more.

The dr.'s seemed concerned because of the cell activity which is 10 on one spot and 14 on the other. I don't understand that one but the dr. told us the activity that determines the need for a biopsy is 2. Is anyone familiar with cell activity and the meaning?

There are 2 ways the cancer goes to the lungs. It can travel through the blood, but people with it in the nose-sinus cells drip directly into the lungs with nasal fluid. That's why the doctor is talking about the cell activity. The cell activity count has to be how fast it's multiplying, but each type of cancer has it's own rates. I bet they're asking or asked you about coughing. I do know that I had a speed track from biopsy to treatment, and it would have been quicker if I didn't have that lousy doctor that I refused to return to.
