Have any of you ever donated your hair to have it made into wigs for cancer patients?

I came across a program that Pantene has that you can cut your hair, at least 8" of it, and send it to them. They donate it to have wigs made. I think when mine grows out enough I will do this, what do you think? It may take a while for it to get that long though. Here is a link to the program they provide http://bit.ly/VFwodM

@kalindria I work for Franciscan St. Francis Health and we have a partnership with WhatNext to where I answer any questions that I can, letting people in Indy know what's going on in terms of events we have, support groups, etc. Greg was kind enough to put my title and phone number so people could contact me if they were looking for a second opinion, had other questions, etc.

Excellent research on donating hair. After my brain surgery, my hair pulled on the scar when I brushed my long hair, so I had it cut. I saved the twelve inch, salt and pepper braid, thinking I might donate it sometime. Thanks for the info.
