Wow, what a great question! In the years that Celebrex first came out, the drug company (then Searle) did a three year study on Celebrex and its potential to prevent colon cancer. The trial was called the APT prevention trial and I was a research coordinator at the time so I participated in the study and had 40 patients enrolled in the trial. It actually worked quite well. Although it was not trialed for pain in cancer, I have seen it used for pain in oncology. It is a cox-2 inhibitor and so it stifles the enzyme that produces an inflammatory pain. If you are on it I wish you the best of luck with it. I know it did wonderful in the Searle Trials, Carm RN.
