Have you ever wondered about how food quality acfects health?

Before you buy, ask the grocer if the (non organic) produce is genetically modified (gmo). If an animal or dairy product, ask if the feed for the animal was gmo. If it is gmo, skip the item.

It's such a mess that I don't even trust Organic Food of IF they tell you it's not GMW....Nothing is sacred anymore in this crazy world....PRAY...

You are right Barry it is hard to trust even organic food. I have talked to an organic farmer who said that felt unsure of her potatoes because the land near her farm had been planted with GMO sugar beets. She feared that the bees had cross pollenated her crops. She ceased to grow beets. I also discussed this who did refer me to the website. I got the answer that there was not regulation that compels a company to label products as GMO. We can only write our congressmen for more transparent labeling and vote the DUMB MULES out of office in the midterms.

It is tricky. There is no law against saying not GMO on a package advertisement but
If you ask a direct question and the answer of a merchant is untruthful, it may constitute fraud.

There are no living Breathatians. Each person must eat so you might as well do the best you can with what you ingest.

In this day and age where Greed is King everything is suspect. The Republicans hate any regulations BUT even a football game has referees.

Geekling those lies are so buried that it would very difficult to prove fraud. I have followed some questions up the management chain. I have found that these individuals are really pretty clueless. They either don't know or don't want to know.
Currently I am searching the internet for information on Hill's Science Diet cat food.
It is very frustrating finding out about anything about the food we and our furry companions eat.

Management isnt far enough. Get far enough up the chaon and you come to distributors which is a whole new chain which takes more sleuthing than I can manage.

Try a whole food for your new kit. Great brands are Blue, instinct, and others which do not have "meal" in place of meat. Kitties are carnivores. Their needs are quite different than ours. I buy what I can manage. Lately it is a Mars package (Good something) or something by Rachael Ray. There are even partly raw kitty treats. I look for 50% off sales or better.

Best wishes. Interested in a Florida kit?

I am not researching kitty food for a new kitty, I am still preparing my home. I am washing all my bedding and I am cleaning all my furniture where Nanny Cat liked to curl up. I don't want my new companion to be disturbed by Nanny Cat's scents
What I am looking for is possibly contaminated food being responsible for her sudden death.

BoiseB, Science Diet is NOT good food for your cat. It is some of the very worst for dogs. I presume so for cats, as well.

I feed my cats Blue or Blue Buffalo canned food and Taste of the Wild dry food.

If you have never tried them, Chewys . Com is da bomb!!!

Oh sorry ... I thought you were researching food for your new cat. I didn't read all of the comments before adding my 2 cents about Science Diet.

Thank you Live With Cancer for the information I will keep it in mind when I am ready to adopt. I do use Chewys I changed to them when I Petflow delivered me a case of canned food with 3 of the twenty four were so bent that the lids had popped open. I think that Science Diet courts the Vets much as pharmaceutical court the Dr. Science Diet is what you see on the office shelves.
I have not yet adopted a kitty yet. Tomorrow I am going to see if I can get Nanny Cat's medical records from the Vet. It is strange that on August 25 she gets a clean bill of health and she is dying on October 5th. Also the Vet was treating a cat who had been noticed just a bit earlier before the kidneys were destroyed. I may be just looking some closure.
