Having a hard time controlling my anger. The state keeps taking away from us which we don't get alot of help to begin with. Now we are on a

spend down between my husband and I is 2,014.00 a month and we only make around 2,500. we are both disabled. Both our kids work but they make just enough to put gas in the cars to get back and forth to work. I don't know where to turn anymore. Thought divorce may help us but then worried about hubby not getting my social security when my time comes. Oh forgot we also get $90 a month in food stamps for a family of 4. I have already lost everything I ever owned by the economy and husband being a builder my house and half the stuff that went with it. I don't know what to do anymore. We all need counseling and there is at least one break down a day by someone. We have no support no family and very few friends. Any suggestions? Cant seem to get out of this deep dark hole back to the light of day!!
    Thanks Susie81610

Susie, I'm sorry to hear of your situation. Do you have a local church that you could visit? I have found comfort there you could possibly form a support network there as well. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

I too am married, was told that we had to have a spenddown.
My husband moved out, my spenddown was then much much lower.
My doctor, and the hospital are aware of how the spenddown works....
My doctor ordered a scan, which totaled to an amount which was way over the spendown amount.
The hospital made sure the total bill was fax to the state that day, and my spendown was than met. The difference the state will pay, and the spendown amount will be covered by many charites that the hospital has. Talk with both your doc, and the hospital billing office, or charity officer, you will be surprised by how they can help you. They deal with this issue on a daily basis

My wife & I are over 70. We both had life threatening diseases in the last 11 years. We had to file chapter 7 with the grand that was left in my 401K 7 years ago, and we later lost our home of 22 years.
I only see the doc every 6 months for refills and blood work. All the "tests" they want to do are not done because even with insurance, the co-pays are TFH.
My health is good enough to get through a DOT physical, which allows me to drive commercially, but I stay away from these "experts" other than get refills on my tier 1 meds because they bankrupted us once, and I don't have anything else to give.
I'll die driving...hope I don't take anyone else with me when I do.
