Your mother will have to be on medication for probably 6 weeks perhaps more to get the clots under control. I have been on it a couple of times. They wont start the chemo until its under control so they don't cause other damage. Chemo needs to have as controlled conditions as possible to have the best results. Coumadin can cause its own issues, she is probably cold and moving slow. I have a friend in a similar situation, clots in the lungs are very dangerous they cannot do anything until those are resolved. Take care of your mom and yourself Tracy
