He can try Gatorade. There are varities with very little sugar and it contains electrolites that help keep you hydrated. My Oncologists recommends ot to me when ever I tend to get dehydrated. That or fruit juice are good alternatives. Good Luck!!

Does he like milk? It's got fat, vitamins, minerals, and protein. Good for a cancer patient.

There are flavored waters available. Also what about boost, ensure or carnation instant breakfast. . I think Crystal light also makes powders that you can add to water.

Fruit juices like natural grape juice or cranberry juice. Both contain anti oxidents and have immune boosting qualities.

Have you tried the tea iced and/or hot and iced herbal teas? I am a "tea snob" - there's a lot more out there then just Lipton. Try some interesting blends and types - white, green, oolong, etc. I also adore seltzer/club soda, except I can't drink it for a few days after my infusion it's the carbonation. I also like hot water with lemon - Just trying to give you some ideas for jazzing up the same old same old.

Sure there are lots of options. Coffee, milk, powdered drink mixes (just don't add sugar to them. Flavored sparkling waters, fruit juices without added sugar, vegetable juices.

I drink diet tonic water with lime juice or lemon juice ...sometime pickle juice and spear to dress it up. This was recommended to me by oncologist to control restless leg syndrome I developed during chemo and radiation. I like to also try different flavored herbal teas; ginger, chai, jasmine, apple cinnamon.....

I liked cranberry juice mixed with club soda. Not too much sugar from the cranberry juice or soda, bubbly so it was refreshing, and it was now sweet tasting.

I enjoyed cranberry juice and seltzer while I was on chemo. Also, I found nice cold milk very appealing, but I like milk normally. And lemonade, which I never drink, because it was the only thing that tasted good when plain water tasted like seawater.

Yes, I realize lemonade is often loaded with sugar. That's why I normally wouldn't drink it, but I was desperate for things that tasted good during chemo.

I like Crystal Light...it's not carbonated and it's sugar free. They have so many different flavors to choose from and it's tasty!
