I have grade 11 invasive Lobular Carcinoma. They think all I will need is Rad. but want to make sure. I know this is a slow growing Cancer and I am not looking forward to treatment but since it is inevitable I am anxious to get it over with.

oncotype Dx test determines the benefit of chemo....depending on the score is whether or not onc will recommend chemo.....I didn't have the test due to node involvement so I'm not totally sure of all the details of the test...

OncotypeDx measures a number of cellular markers in your cancer to determine benefit of chemotherapy, risk of recurrence (not all early stage breast cancers benefit from chemo, so why expose the body to something so harsh that can lead to other cancers, never mind the XXX of therapy). If the score is low, you don't need chemo. If the score is high, it means your breast cancer tissue had markers such as kras which is linked with more aggressive outcomes, and having chemo will reduce your recurrence score by half (so yes not perfect. My recurrence score was 30% with no chemo, came down to 15% with chemo. It's recurrence in 10 years I believe). Other drugs added to the regimen bring down the recurrence risk.
