HIgh CA-125 verses negative PET scan

I have been undergoing chemo for my first recurrance of stage 3A ovarian cancer. I had a PET scan on the 24th of May. The PET scan states: "Essentially negative PET/CT with no significant metabolically active disease". My CA-125 taken the same day was 92. I know that CA-125 is not a good indicator for some people (mine had been in the past). While I am happy dancing about the PET/CT results I am still concerned at the high CA-125. Has this been an issue for anyone else? My oncologist feels that we can stop treatment for now and monitior with the CA-125 monthly and another PET/CT in 3 months. Thoughts?

As an oncology nurse who specializes in gyne cancers I say, "Dance with Abandon!" CA-125s are notorious for elavating for all kinds of things. In gyne/onc, it is always the scans that tell the story. Kick off those shoes and hit the floor. Congratulations...this is your dance! Carm RN.
