Everyone heals differently, so no one could really tell you for sure. I had a bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction with silicone gel implants on February 3, 2012. My surgeons advised me to take 8-10 weeks off of work if possible. I don't have a desk job, I run a community center for Parks and Recreation. I would say that by the 4th week, I was doing pretty well, but was still very limited in my activities. If you have had expanders in and you are just replacing expanders with implants, you shouldn't have too much trouble. My scars healed pretty fast but my chest was uncomfortable for quite a while.
I write a blog about my experience at nancebeth.blogspot.com, and it includes pictures of my reconstruction as well.
      Good luck.

My exchange surgery was much easier than bilat. I took one week off work....no drains....lifting restrictions but no driving restrictions. surgical bra for a week, then regular bra 24/7 for a month...then no bra!!!! I was told 2 -3 weeks off work for bilat.....

This one was way easier than the first. I'd say 3 days to a week? I had my nipples done at the same time, so maybe that made it longer?
