    How long is this going to take without infections? Iam planning on mastectomy with immediate one stage reconstruction.

    Invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) I am meeting with the team. Feb 13 to go over the plan of attack. Im so scared and freaking out.

      How long is what going to take? Your mastectomy? Your treatment plan? Not sure what you are asking, but most likely your medical team is the only one who can answer that. There is not standard. It depends on what kinds of treatment you are having, in what order, and for what duration.

      recovery from surgery? If that is your question, I'd say a couple weeks. When I had my bilat, I was told to be off work 2 to 3 weeks....By 2 1/2 weeks post bilat, I was feeling pretty good...and then I started chemo!!!! I worked throught Dx and Tx....

      You're likely to remain infection free if you follow the instructions given by your Drs. From the time I had my biopsy results to surgery it took 1.5 months. After biopsy I had an MRI, with those results I met with a team of Drs. At that point I had to see the plastic surgeon, who then worked out a schedule with the mastectomy surgeon.
