    How was your Thanksgiving?

We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving day! Did you all make it through without any unwanted nausea, pain that wouldn't let you eat, or other issues that can spoil a day?

Happy Thanksgiving to you - Even after 4 years I have some residual stuff going on but thankfully do to not have problems swallowing like I did before. One more year and I hope to be Marianne NED. Happy New Year to all and pray that this upcoming New Year - will be doable as well. I have discovered no matter how well I get - the worry never stops and the anxiety of going for those scans is just as bad as the diagnosis. I still worry and will continue do so - I guess. The sad part of this is the young woman (a friend) who had already been through her trial and was waiting only a few months to get to the 5 year mark. Recently I met her at the hospital and she told me that her cancer had come back just past the 5 yr mark and it was now in her bones. She had Breast Cancer - so we are all upset and tear'd up. She has already been through XXX and back so we are praying a lot. I have come to the conclusion that clean after 5 years really is a non thing. When you have cancer. Everyday after the 5 years is added blessing. Never know when the SSS is going to hit the fan! Blesssings to everyone - Angels Keep you Safe - GranEM forgive typos, grammar etc. Now if someone could just rid me of this dang tinnitus - I'd be happy

We went to Ruby Tuesday's for the salad bar.....GranEM I worry all the time also...every new lump or bump or new ache gives me a bit of a panic and a disgust. The worst part is that I will never fell safe again. Of course there is no total safety on this Planet.....Barry...

I had a very nice Thanksgiving with my brother. My other brother was also there. I walked over to his house but I stayed too long and it got dark so I had to have a ride home.
GrandEM I will add my prayers to yours for your friend. I also have a friend whose cancer came back on her 5th anniversary .

Thank You Barry and Boise - Donna really needs those prayers. I have another friend who lives in Sr. Housing - as I do and she has her cancer coming back into her bones. She was clean for 5 years after Breast Cancer and Last year was her cancer came back as I stated above. SO far she is doing well after her trial with Chemo/radiation. I don't know if I would have gotten through it as she has. I admire each and everyone of you who has had to deal with much illness through the years. You are all incredible individuals - I pray each night for everyone on this the board, regardless of diagnosis. Because it is our safe place where we can sound off and where everyone understands and we don't have to explain it to anyone. . Thank you Gregg - Be well everyone and "Angels keep you all Safe" - GranEM

It was very nice. Went to my cousins for the big family gathering. They set up lots of long tables so we could all eat at the same table. I am recovering from hip replacement and woke up not feeling very well but went anyway. By the time I got home I was exhausted and in all kinds
of pain but being with everyone was a good distraction and was able to eat fairly well.

It was just Donna and I this year, the first time in 9 years that we haven't had 20 or 30 people in the house. Everybody was busy this year. I smoked a small turkey breast just for us, we are tired of leftovers already.

Thanksgiving was awesome! My last surgery was Aug. 7th and now I'm doing well. For the first time since radiation in March, I was able to swallow much better so I ate a plate of delicious food.
So grateful to be alive and hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving :)

Even my husband remarked that this Thanksgiving was so fantastic! Our daughter cooked and brought food over. We don't do traditional since we're not big turkey lovers. She made braised beef ribs(hubby's favorite), mashed potatoes, roasted carrots, and bought a fruit salad and mini cupcakes. I have a lot of dietary restrictions and she took all of them into consideration. Our granddaughter and daughter watched the Dallas game with hubby while my grandson and I watched Battlebots. It was a small, relaxed gathering. Then our son came over on Saturday with a movie for the three of us to watch together over dinner that I cooked. Can't ask for better than this!
