    How was your weekend?

Enough moping from me... How was everyone's weekend? What did you do?

We went to the apple orchard. We go every year & take the hay ride through the orchard & load up on apples. Everyone likes honeycrisp & my husband likes sweet tango, but my fav is fireside. We ended up with the tangos because the fireside hadn't been picked yet. They also have great bakery!

I always take a photo, but this year I made sure there was one with me in it!

I had intestinal issues (from radiation in 2011) all weekend, but managed to find a brief time each day to go to water aerobics class and run errands. It was cold outside, but I sat outside to get some sun when it came out. Need enough of that to last through a long, cold MI winter.

Wow Jalemans, what a wonderful weekend.Never heard of Tango or Fireside apples, sounds like I am really missing out.We usually go to an apple festival also this time of year but since my husband kidnapped me up to the mountains it was too far away to attend. However, the KOA where we are staying has a huge Apple tree behind the office full of apples. Some have dropped and although not perfect I was able to sample and they taste Great! We have a ladder so I asked if they minded if we picked some and they said not at all, so today a hunting we will go.

Played a little music on Sat night, recovered all day on Sunday, but did go to a Family reunion for my wife's Family. Got to see some people that we haven't seen in years. Must have been 40 or 50 people, lots and lots of food! Love those "bring a dish" type get togethers! After going through what we do and being able to see what color death's door is, I appreciate being here to see the family and friends. After that, it was nappy time!

Hi! I went to a gala fundraiser for the gospel rescue mission in Washington DC. It was at a Marriott and my cousin was staying over so my husband and I stayed over and spent some much needed family time.

Saturday was a low-energy day after my chemo steroid from Thursday wore off, so I just took it easy. Felt a bit more energetic on Sunday. Mainly I was surfing the web, napping, listening to music, and doing a bit of drawing, which was enjoyable in a low-key way.

I danced Saturday night one performance, and then went to a friends party it was great but exhausting. I went on my usual early morning hikes as well, walked dogs and went to another neighborhood party yesterday...so it was basically a ‘party’ weekend. But I didn’t spend much time at the parties because we were having a horrible heat wave, and I wasn’t feeling very good because of it- severe heat always gives me migraines. :-( Wish I could have enjoyed everything more, but at least my mind was taken off of the big C for awhile.
I also sold a few things on eBay and consequently spent more time on the computer than I wanted to, but I need the $ so YAY!
And BTW- I love apples! I want to hang out with you next time you do that! I’ve got a little apple tree in my back yard and I can’t figure out what kind it is- the apples are green and long, I checked online but I haven’t been able to figure out what kind of apple tree it is yet. But my squirrels and the raccoons don’t share many with me, they always grab them first despite the netting and other attempts that I have made to protect the apples....but when they are kind enough to leave me an apple it is really good, sweet and crisp!

I love apples - wish there was an orchard close I could visit. Lucky you, Jalemans!

I went to my grandson's soccer game. He's only 6 and he's never played before. In fact, I'm not sure he's ever even seen a soccer game. The kids were adorable and tried really hard. It was probably 100 degrees on the turf field and there was no shade. We all tried to stay hydrated and had a lovely lunch at a Cuban restaurant afterward. My first Cuban sandwich! Yum!

A thought just occurred to me: I'm sad that there are no apple orchards around me that I can visit when we are surrounded by some of the world's best vineyards and wineries. And we never go wine-tasting. LOL

Jalesmans, that sounds like an awesome fall day. . .are the leaves turning by you ? ? ? Munchkin must have had a great day ! ! ! My Mom turned 85, some relatives where up for the week. . . had a familiy dinner party on Friday night to celebrate, took the dogs on the trail Saturday morning, then went to the Devils (hockey) game Saturday night. Sunday, Keith and I took Mom into NYC to see a broadway play and then out to dinner. (that was my gift to her). I was traveling in California and several days on here. . .did you get the results back from your biopsy yet?

Hi KLC, sounds like you had a busy weekend & some fun! The leaves are just starting to turn here, but we have sure had cool weather the last week! The radiologist canceled the needle biopsy after she reviewed my scans (too close to heart & arteries). A thoracic surgeon is going to do a mediastinoscopy & try to remove them on Thursday. Thanks for asking. I am very on edge about the whole thing.

Rhat sounds like a lot of fun, Jalemans! I am glad you made sure you are in the picture!

My weekend was so uneventful that I can't even remember what we did on Saturday. Yesterday, we watched football on TV and I read some. I tend to NOT do much on the weekend and wait instead for weekdays when everyone else is at work!

Today, my 84 year old mom and I met some friends and went to see Gone Girl and to eat a late lunch. It was a lot of fun. Mom usually plays bridge on Monday (Wednesday and Thursday!) but didn't today. It was nice to have her along!

I spent half the weekend refuting Barryboomer's posts in response to Greg's question about what (other than cancer) we'd like more awareness raised. The other half of the weekend I spent snoozing and trying to regain energy after all that Barryboomer's-posts-refuting! And now - no more weekend. Best to you, Jaleman, on Thursday. Let us know how everything went.

Everybody's opinion has merit and I believe IF people had more dialogues we'd find out that both sides are probably closer than they think AND can understand MORE where the other person is coming from.....It would make for a better and MORE Peaceful world.

Saturday in the fall = college football in my house. Unlike when I was on chemo, I don't have to go take a nap in the middle of a game! Watched my Buckeyes beat Maryland (sorry Maryland fans). Watched Rutgers beat Michigan (ok, Michigan is our rival, so I'm not sorry about that...). Over all a good weekend.

I spent most of the weekend on my Bible Study homework (I have two Bible Study Groups one on Monday night and one on Tuesday night). Saturday afternoon my computer was drafted to act in its television capacity for the Notre Dame game. I always try to get a lot of rest on Sunday as Monday is an exhausting day for me I have physical therapy in the Morning and Bible Study at night.
Barry and Carool, I am sorry I dropped that controversial bomb. I really didn't mean for anyone to take it politically

Hey BoiseB....It shouldn't be Political....it's just somebody's opinion. Less Abortions are a good thing and any way we can get to that is good. I wouldn't outlaw them just try and change the way people think of the unborn.
