I just ordered a 60 day supply, and will be adding to my daily regiment. After asking (why I had to ask) that my tumor be tested in March, I finally have the pathology results and it was positive for HPV 16. It was tested for all strains of HPV..While we all sit idly by waiting for something to prevent anal cancer from coming back and hoping to get an annual anal HPV test, if we can convince a doctor to do it (it is becoming exceedingly hard to get through the protocols these days for a cervical HPV test let alone an anal test). AHCC is a made from shitake mushroom extract and has been shown in both lab and mouse studies to kill the HPV virus...see link above. So my question is shall we all give it a try? It is about $1 a day...I think it might be worth a shot!

i do believe in the power of mushrooms.

To have AHCC be at all effective, you need about 3 grams twice per day. That is more in the cost category of $6-$8/day and insurance will not pay. It increases your own body's ability to produce more killer cells. Unless you have some sort of special buying power? It is actually made from mushroom roots (mycellia).

      Best wishes.

I will check the mgs of what I ordered from pure prescriptives. I was wrong about the $1/day as their suggested dose is two a day, so at the price I got it for ($59/60 pills) that would be $2/day. They so indicate a higher dose to start in special situations...not sure what that means, so 2 a day if the mg is right. Ingredients look fine, most if not all their products are herbals.

The stinking Insurance Companies will pay $100,000 for poison BUT not one cent for some supplements or some carrots......what's up with that?

Their suggested dose is for those who want to take a pill. Please note their "special circumstance" suggestion and, be aware, that double that dose is an effective protocol. That would be 3,000 mg in the am and 3,000 mg in the pm to effectively have your body make enough killer cells to actually kill an attacking pathogen.

Of course I am not a doctor. I do understand CYA which causes companies to suggest dosing lower than an effective dose because sometimes people can foolishly hurt themselves by misdiagnosing a problem. If your pills are 500 mg, you need 6 pills in the morning and six more pills in the evening to make enough killer cells to be effective against a viral problem.

Check out another product called "Viralstop". There are lots of products. Some of them work. Herbalists don't like to stick their necks out any more than other folks and do not wish to be blamed for distress to a customer.

I've been doing some more research geekling, and found a chat room that was amazing..there was a woman there that joined the trial. The dosage for HPV is a special situation as the manufacturer of the ones I purchased suggested. According to the information this woman shared, the dose is 3g or 6- 500 mg pills - 2 before breakfast, 2 before lunch and 2 before dinner for 90 days-6 months in the trial, then reduce to 1 - 500 mg twice a day before meals.

      http://www.inspire.com/groups/national-cervical-cancer-coalition/discussion/ahcc-dr-judith-smith/

....interesting discussions. I am no doctor and don't suggest anyone try this without speaking with their doctor, but awareness is everything and if we don't clear HPV on our own we may be at risk forever...there seems to be no side effects or interaction with AHCC, so I am going to give it a go...as the mastercard commercial says...Anal cancer $200,000, Getting rid of HPV, priceless! I will use my contingency fund if that is what it takes to never have to have a resection. Got to love that insurance companies don't think all these supplements we must now take are not covered, but will pay for future surgery!

This is the comment from trial participant:
"I am a participant in the study that is being conducted by Dr. Judith Smith in Houston. After one month on the AHCC I just got a negative HPV test. I can't tell you how EXCITED I am! With permission from Dr. Smith, I am posting the correct brand/dosage to take:

"The AHCC product I recommend using ImmunoKinko 750 (Quality of Life labs) order[phone number redacted][phone number redacted]). I would suggest taking 4 capsules (3g) for at least three months to six months to "test" if will help. If you mention you asked me for dosing I believe they will give you a 10% discount too and I know that they contribute 30% of their profit to ongoing cancer research, so good source."

(I believe this is Dr. Smith's comment to the woman in the trial, although I may be wrong.)

The pills you bought were only 500 mg. But you are correct in that I mis-translated the dosage.
The pills iI had were 2 pills=1500 mg .. I had been taking 2 in the am and 2 in the pm for a total of 3 not 6 grams.

No brain damage ever from chemotherapy or radiation :-)

      Apologies

You are right geekling it is very expensive for the first 3 months (at the price I got from Pure Prescriptions about $154/month for the 6 pill/day round which includes a pretty good credit for the next order - about $13 for a 60 pill bottle which I am going to have to reorder in a larger size!), but still cheaper than the meds for the fissures and stenosis that I am having to use...that was $475 for the rectiv and $750 for the vagifem, so the AHCC is a bargain! Luckily the insurance covered the others. The current med I am on for the fissures is not covered as it is a compound not FDA approved, oh well...most of my treatment was covered so I am thankful enough for that.
I know what you mean about brain damage! No apology necessary! I can't add anymore without a calculator! :)
      Best to you...

I simply do not, any longer, have those sort of discretionary funds. I did not ever expect to have the total collapse of health that i did. Had I known a tenth of what I was in for, I would have not ever begun with conventional therapies but, as I've said, any options were denied to me by the simple act of lying about side and after effects as well as withheld information regarding my state of health.

I had my tumor tested and it was positive for #16 & 18. However, about 3 weeks later I had a pap smear and was negative for HPV. Would this protocol still benefit me? I have discussed with a couple of doctors, just how little they know about HPV. It sounds like my body fought it off ... or it is simply dormant. Anyone have a good resource for HPV info?

HI MsVJP, I was negative too for cerical HPV following my treatments, but still showed squamous cells on my cervix. My tumor was positive for 16 as well and the pap and HPV I had done 5 months prior to my anal diagnosis was negative. I am not sure the virus cares where it rears its ugly head, and if we are one of the unlucky ones that do no shed the virus as they say we do, then it can just sit waiting to happen. That is my take on it anyway...

It's just amazing to me how little is known about this virus. Especially given just how prevalent it is. I have asked EVERY doctor about recurrence and infecting my partner etc. Nobody, including gynos, knows much about this. Just so sad.....and frustrating.

I have been using it for 3 months and its amazing... i take 2 tables 3 times a day all. Within a week i notice a different within 2 months all my hvp systems had gone. I stopped taking it for a month to see how my body was going with the virus and i started seeing signs of it within 3 weeeks. So thist time im trying for 6 months. And im added other immune boosting stuff. Its not cheap but if i have to spend the rest of my life of it... so be it.

The pills on Quality of Life are each 750 mg. The Supplement Info is for 2 capsules. So, you'd need to take 4 capsules each day to be at 3 g (or 3000 mg). So, you'd have a 15 day supply for $84.95.

Maris, please stop advertising for this doctor. We really don't want to hear it. HPV cannot be cured, but it does go dormant. Ugh....

Sara, herpes isnt the end of the world, cancer is. Almost everyone is infected with hpv at some tie or another. If you were legitimate, you wouldn't be soliciting for Dr Solution. You would understand that although natural medicine has been around forever, a virus is not easy to cure. HPV causes all kinds of issues inclding cancer. Be wary of Dr Solution. Best to you in your quest.
