It seems that no matter how much I drink (buy 1 or 2 cases at a time) my kidney function was greatly diminished when I was in the hospital a couple of months ago with an infection that they were trying to keep from turning into Sepsis, like the previous stay, The antibiotics were too much for me. When I was discharged my function was 24!! I've never been normal since my surgeries but I used to be in the high 40's to mid 50's. Not now and it's very discouraging. And they continually assured me that they were watching my one kidney function very closely. Last week's blood work showed a whopping 38, for which I am thankful.

Dear Andreacha---I'm glad your function went up, it affects everything- what you can eat and how much. Hard to rest, etc. I hope you don't mind me saying that I'm praying for you. It must be frustrating for you to keep getting those infections. It probably seems like you make some progress and you get knocked down again. Let us know how you're doing-keep us posted--

Meyati -Thank you for your concern. it is very upsetting trying to do the right thing - to no avail. You are right about getting some real rest - nearly impossible. The eating part is a real challenge as I am on a blood thinner which dictates one diet and also have hereditary Hemochromatosis which requires an almost completely opposite diet. I have added a Urologist to my group of doctors to see if he can be of some help. I appreciate your prayers at any time. Thank you again.

Hi, I can see your diet problems. I didn't know that blood thinner required a special diet. I bet you get it from both sides, as medical staff often focus on one thing and don't look at the totality of your needs. And I thought that I had problems, mine are nothing compared to yours. So hang in there-- This is small potatoes, but medical people and friends don't know what to do with me because I don't have breast cancer. That doesn't make me friendly, but I don't go into a snit or rage. I guess my evil eye is enough for most people. I'd say in a snotty British accent-- I do not have breast cancer. Are you sure that you are the proper person to be talking to me? I can sound real snotty-sinus problems help that cause.

Take care and talk anytime you want-I don't care how trivial it seems to be, but it bothers you. Don't write on my wall- I don't check that at all- I respond to a question forum. That keeps me busy enough.
