I am attending the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance conference in July in Washington, D.C.

I am attending this conference on behalf of all of us ladies suffering with this disease. It will be my first one. If there is anything any of you would like for me to bring up to those in charge along with congress please give me your feedback. I would love to represent us all in a way that they will listen to our stories, journeys, pain, and etc....so much to say. I feel blessed to be able to attend; I actually won a scholarship to pay for this attendence otherwise I could not go. Being on disability is not only a financial burden but also influences your life in a negative way of not being able to really live out the rest of your life in a manner of paying it forward. This gives me the opportunity to do that. I would love to hear from any of you; with questions, remarks as I am representing us all. God Bless You all everyday to continue to fight this fight.

Its all about funding..We are so close but we need funding to our Universities because that's where the breakthroughs come from. We need tax payer money that we all pay for going to cancer research that effect Americans.

Sunshinemb - I am going to be that the conference too! Whoo Hooo! I hope we can meet. I also won a scholarship from our state chapter. If they have a message board we will have to come up with a meeting place and time.
I will use the infor that gets posted to your question to bring to my Capitol Hill reps too.

Yeah SpunkyS and sunshinemb! Thanks for attending and representing us. It is so important to get the word out . My ovaries were removed in 2006 and in 2011 I was diagnosed with stage IIIC ovarian cancer! Women must know their bodies and symptoms. Health care providers must recognize symptoms. Research must continue. Funding is essential. Blessings to you. You go girls!!!

We definitely need to get people in this country talking about Ovarian Cancer as much as they have been about breast cancer. The more people talk the more attention is brought to ovarian cancer and the more lives can be saved. Have a great time and thanks for speaking for us all.

On behalf of all us ladies I am proud to honor us at this conference to speak loud and clear about Teal, and the need for more research, funding, etc. Especially the awareness and followups we all go through following surgeries, chemo, etc. all the emotions, and having your life turned upside down. SpunkyS we will meet at the meet and greet the first night; my name is Janice Holman and I look forward to hugging your neck my girl as one of the same in my world. If anyone has anything specific they want answered or questioned or brought up; please share that is why we are going. I'm not afraid to say it LOUD AND PROUD for all of us. God Bless You.
