I am having difficulty locating gynecologist/oncologist in my area to take over the care that my AZ dr was giving

I am unfamiliar with health care providers in this area and I am unable to find any information regarding what doctors I should be seeing. I know I need to have a doctor soon since my next check up is due in December for my vaginal cancer. I have not yet started any treatments. I was diagnosed with HR HPV 16 LG SIL, VAIN 1 last year. I am also a post hyst. due to uterine cancer in 2006. It was all removed and contained no further treatment was required. It is my wish to find a doctor that I can feel confident with and preferably a female in this area as was my last doctor. I live in Waveland MS and any direction or suggestions about where I can seek care would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The best place to start is looking at the hospitals or cancer centers in your new area. Most hospitals today have referral lines that can help you find a provider. Also, ask your new neighbors about who they go to. You don't have to give them your diagnosis, just you are new in the area and need to find a doctor. Recomendations by people in the area are usually pretty reliable.

If you can, check back with your original doctor who you liked so much. While she may not personally know anyone in your area, she may be able to assist with some recommendations based on her associations with other doctors.
