I am scheduled to have an endoscopy in a month

I also need a colonoscopy done to check progress with my treatments and look for polyps. Has anyone had them done at the same time? I mean while on the table they do both?

Yes, I've had them done at the same time. They did the endoscopy first and then the colonoscopy. My husband also had both done at the same time. It's done in the same procedure room by the same doctor - you need to use a gastroenterologist because they are certified to do both. Best wishes for good news.

I have had both done at the same time. It was done while asleep, so only one time to be put under. And you save money because it's only one time for anesthesia.

I had both at the same time at my gastroenterologist's request. I needed the endoscopy to see why it hurt badly when I swallowed. I had never had a colonoscopy so my MD talked me into doing both at the same time. Easy as could be :)

I've had them both done at the same time, several times. It's what my doctor referred to as a "2fer".

I have mine scheduled for next week. I also call it my “2 for 1” and have it done every other year. Why go under anesthesia twice?

I have had both an endoscopy and a colonoscopy done at the same time. As others said they did the EGD first and then the colonoscopy. You are out for both procedures. It was nice having it done at the same time - only one time for prep, anesthesia. The procedure was done by my GI doctor. Good luck.
