Thank you, Ursula.
That gives me a little piece of mind. The Dr. said he didn't think it was related to my tumor but just hearing someone else have these side effects, as bad as it sounds makes me feel better about the fact that it is just all the chemo and not the tumor.

Are you taking Filgrastin/Neupogen Injections? They can cause back pain. It makes different bones ache each time I use it. A couple of times it went to my spine and the whole spine from top to the bottom ached like crazy, a couple other times it went to my pelvic bone, made it hard to sit down and once down, hard to get up. One time my femur and shin bones ached so bad I could barely walk,The pain was as if I had been shot in the legs! chest/sternum, it was bad but not like what one person told me the she thought she was having a heart attack. I don't know why the medicine picks different bones to work their stimulation of the bone marrow cells, but they do.

I had back pain while getting R-Chop. I finished in March and I am doing Rituxan maintinance therapy. I still have back pain. My family doctor has x rayed my back and says it is not arthritis. He thinks it might be muscle related. I did lose a lot of weight while getting R Chop - it might be due to some muscle weakness.

You may also want to consider whether you have a history of osteoporosis like I do. I had a lot of back pain and attributed it to the Neulasta shots I got two days after my R-CHOP treatments. It finally got so painful that my oncologist had me get an MRI, which showed fractures in my spine. Prednisone and one other in the R-CHOP are known to weaken bones... found that out when I had a consult with an endocrinologist for follow-up treatment of the fractures.
