Doctor told me that the transplant may be gave benefit but the chances is around 60%. but during the stay in the hospital the most around 90% BMT patients were expired during or after BMT. Furthermore; the BMT also have very serious complication for both the donor and the patient it self. In Pakistan the doctors are not perfect for the treatment of AML and the medicines are also not well.
Any one in the room please inform me where I will go for her treatment and the approx. cost of her treatment. or provide the contract details etc.

I too relapsed with AML....6 weeks after my intial rounds of chemo and BMT. I was agast! We went through the whole process again...only this time, my doctors gave my donor's (my sister and 100% match) MATURE WHITE cells ONLY! It was a very simple process...a syringe of cells into my PICC line. That did the trick! I've been in remission now for 4 1/2 years. My advice: get to a leukemia research facility where they diagnose the patient right down to the DNA. My hospital (the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE) found that I had a "marker" or defect on my DNA which originally allowed the Leukemia in. I'm now on a clinical trial blocker to avoid that happening ever again. Where cost vs. life of your daughter is concerned, you have to make a decision. Is it worth it to spend everything you've got and pay the bills later? BTW...there are many ways to help financially. You can find some of them at my website: www.cancerkaleidoscope.com - under the Resources page. Things like free flights to get to treatment centers, basic help in bill paying, and many sources for free or reduced lodging during your stay as your daughter is being treated and recovers. Blessings to you and NEVER, NEVER give up HOPE!

I received my stem cell transplant on July 5, 2011, I am 21 1/2 months post transplant and doing great. I am treated at West Virginia University, Ruby Memorial Hospital by a wonderful doctor named Dr Michael Craig. Within a few weeks they found I had 2 siblings that matched and chose my brother as male stem cells are stronger ( women's immune system declines with every child they have). My brother was a perfect match, I have his blood type, his allergies and my hair has grown back with the same texture as his. The chemo before the transplant is so strong that it alone can kill you but knowing I had only a few months without it, it was well worth the risk. I have had to have all immunizations again like a newborn and now see this doctor every 3-4 months. I forgot to mention that I am a Registered Nurse. This hospital is wonderful, they gave my husband and brother a room to stay in, like an apartment and after transplant my husband and I were given an apartment (kitchen and all) to stay in, I my stay for transplant was less than 60 days. Cost of a transplant alone is around $25,000.00 USD. Not sure of cost of hospital etc. but when the other answer is death, why does cost matter. I am not rich, my savings are gone, I have no health insurance, however the doctor continues to treat me. I love WVU Hospital. They treated me wonderfully and are all angels to me! I hope this helps you in some way. I'll be praying for your daughter and your family.
