• I have a fear that anything I put into my body could cause cancer to come back.

I have a fear that anything I put into my body could cause cancer to come back.

I don’t know if it is because the cancer was in my throat or if I am worried about metastasis. How can I get this fear out of my head?

Who is the professional that you've spoken to that said anything you put in your body will cause cancer? I'm betting that your answer is you haven't spoken to anyone. Now might be a good time to do so. You certainly do want this fear to completely take over. Might not be a bad idea to seek counseling.

I understand the fear part of this but you need to get past the fear to be able to live your life. As TC said counsling might be helpful for this. I personnaly believe that what we eat does not cause cancer or kill us but woring about what we eat does. That said you might also ask for a referal to a nutritionist to help you with a healthy diet and one that is likely to stregnthen your immune system and help you get over the fear. Good Luck!!!!

It is a scary thing to have a terrible disease and not know what caused it. I suspect all cancer patients worry about this at times. I worry about my kids, too: Are the thing(s) that caused my cancer going to give them cancer? What should we be doing differently? I already had a very healthy lifestyle and don't have any known hereditary factors.
