Whether one person has had success or not with a given chemo drug has no bearing on another person. Every person and every cancer is unique. Your oncologist is the best person to make that decision.

I know your head starts racing faster than you can keep up with it. Try to slow down if you can, ask your questions one at a time, and be specific about what you need to know. There are a ton of great people here that can cover most any subject you can come up with, hundreds of us have already been there. We are here for you.

SouthernMom, what a clever name, it suits your profile picture... you can see that hospitality in your eyes. I know you have many questions, and I am an oncology nurse that specializes in gyne cancers. I am here if you have questions, you can write me on my home page. There is a website called chemotherapyadvisor.com and it is free to join. When you get on the home page, to the right about half way down there is a section called cancer and their regimens. Click on the genitourinary cancers and cervical cancer will appear. Click on the cervical cancer and you will see a chart of all the regimens for cervical cancer. It might help you get a clearer picture. I wish you the best of luck and if I can do anything for you, let me know, Carm RN.

Hi, I was diagnosed with stage 2b cervical cancer back in April 2012 and the chemo drug I was undergoing was CIsplatin, my onocologist advised me that it wouldn't take my hair out(in fact it didn't), but one of the cons to Cisplatin or any "platin" based drug is very potent and hard to tolerate, I became very ILL while undergoing Chemotherapy,I had 5 rounds, I'm currently in remission, I also had 25 external radiation treatments, and 4 internal treatments
