I keep reading that one of the side effects of thyroid not working right is fatigue

So how much fatigue is associated with the thyroid problem, and how much is just plain because I'm tired. I think I have more problems every time I think I need a nap.

Thyroid can cause this but there are several other things that can cause this as well. Remember you are going through some really stressful things so your system is likely to go into a sleep mode (protection).
Watch closely for depression and anxiety - these are really common when we are dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Thyroid cancer in particular is sneaky because the hormone affects so many different things in the body and mind.
I suspect that worry is a big factor here. However when you are really low thyroid you will find that your balance starts to be off, your sense of smell may be gone (mine goes away after one day missing) and you will find yourself chilled easily.
I speak from experience here - anytime you are worried about it ask for a blood test. Remember that with thyroid cancer history we need to have a replacement dose higher than others, Tracy
