Hi. I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis, although all new reports have confirmed that treatmet is more effective in destroying HPV related head and neck cancer. My husband was diagnosed May 2011 of stage IVa base of tongue cancer which had spread to his lymph nodes. We are in N. Carolina. He is (for now) cancer free. If there is anything I can do, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Your oncologist should determine your treatment and the facility. If you don't have an oncologist, get a referral for one from your primary care physician.

Here is a listing of the 100 best cancer hospitals in the US. http://health.usnews.com/best-hospitals/rankings/cancer Emory University Hospital is #39 on the list. That's really good so, everything else being equal, I'd go there.

That Dr is listed on an active head and neck NCI protocol in Atlanta, maybe he's a good oncologist to see? If you need surgery try to see a surgeon affiliated with Northside Hospital (they tend to get better people because they pay better)

Dr. Craig Richman is one of only a few fellowship-trained head and neck surgical specialists in the metropolitan Atlanta area ( at Northside). Dr seay doesn't seem to focus on head and neck, maybe they can recommend someone at Atlanta cancer care (not sure why he's primary contact for a NCI head and neck trial)
