I'm having stabbing pains a year after bilateral mastectomy

Does anyone have experience with this? I didn't have reconstruction or any other treatments but the center area of my right side (the middle of the scar) hass been sending a lot of shooting pains in the last few days, and the left side has sent a few. Any suggestions?

I have had a different surgery, but I sounds like what I have, about five months after the surgery I started to get shooting pains in the general area and also sensitive to the touch. My surgeon said it is nerve damage and sympathy pains, because mine is not the incision area but kinda near it.

I had a bilateral mastectomy in February of this year. The worse pain I have had is the stabbing pain under my arm. Feels like someone takes a knife and puts it in my arm pit. Doctors say this is actually good because it means the nerves are reconnecting. I just got put on a medicine Gabapentin 300 mg to help with it. The doctor said the pains could last up to two years after surgery. Hope you get some relief.
