I was diagnosed with LMP ovarian cancer 4 years ago. I underwent 2 surgeries to first remove the tumor and then to do a total hysterectomy and biopsies. Every 3 months I get blood work done (CA-125, CEA, and CA 19-9) as well as any other tests my doctors want me to have. I see my oncologist every January for a pelvic exam and my ObGyn every July for a pap test, breast exam, pelvic exam, and mammogram. My oncologist did not recommend chemo or radiation for me right now because of a serious heart problem that I have because she was not sure I would be strong enought to handle it without complications. I also have had a colonoscopy and CT scans to check for any sign that the cancer has returned. I hope this gives you some idea of what I've been through but remember everybody has a doctor that thinks differently on patient care. I wish you good health. Take care.
