Not me, but my father had prostate cancer for 12 years before it advanced. He only received hormone treatments. His psa was over 100 at one time, I can't say what it was when he started. It was over 13 years ago.
good luck with your treatments, I hope they go well for you!

My PSA went from 2 to 13 in 2 years ( I am 54). I tried antibiotics for 3 weeks and the PSA climbed to 15. I opted for surgery in November, and it was a good thing as my prostate had cancer in every area, with average gleasons of 7. It hadnt yet spread to the lymph nodes.

It's not just the level of psa, but how fast it increases in a short time. My psa was under 6, but biopsy revealed 5 positive cores and Gleason score of 7 and 8 in two samples. Had robotic surgery on 3/5/13 and feel great today. psa non-detectable, wearing 1 or 2 pads per day and waiting for DE to improve.
