That's very nice. The American Cancer Society has ways to volunteer http://www.cancer.org/Involved/Volunteer/ or you could contact them (1.800.227.2345) for help with that.

Or you might check at local hospitals or cancer centers to see if they have support groups and volunteer opportunities.

If you're social, maybe think about starting your own little support group. There are free websites like meetup.com that facilitate people getting together that share similar interests.

      A few places to start.

Also here is a little booklet from the National Cancer Institute that might help http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/facing-forward.pdf

Between the NCI and ACS, together they have the most comprehensive general information on cancer that I've seen in one place on the internet. When I have a question, usually one or the other can answer it, and if it's specific to the cancer we're dealing with, then there are additional organizations that we go to. More often than not, they send me a link to the same two websites.

Thanks for wanting to give back! Your local Relay For Life is always looking for volunteers also, Relay For Life is the signature fund raising tool of the american Cancer society. But anything you do, in any capacity, is welcomed by someone. Have fun and enjoy it.
