    Insurance says it can take 30 days to get approval for proton therapy, any ways to speed this up.?

    Dr. has sent letter. I have called pt. advocate and now its jus a waiting game. Tumor has grown in last month.

      Some insurance companies will offer an escalated approval process if the treatment is urgent. I believe the request has to come from your physician.

      I work for a third party administrator that pays med bills for self insured employers. In our instance, we sometimes have to wait to get an answer from anothr vendor the employer might use for med review. And sometimes 30 days is a stock answer to everything. Have you gotten the same 30 day answer from multiple phone reps?
