From communicating with multiple ladies diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer since 2015, chemotherapy is used primarily in the United States. Radiation is used outside the United States. Both chemotherapy and radiation have serious side effects. My oncologist explained your treatment plan is based on many factors including your general health, your stage of cancer, how your cancer responds to treatment and how you are tolerating treatment and is based on evidence based research. The goal is to destroy/control your cancer with ensuring your side effects are tolerable. I hope this helps.

I've got ovarian/fallopian tube cancer, stage IV, and have had two recurrences. I've had three different oncologists and two different GYN surgeons. No one has ever suggested radiation for my cancer.
