Is there a program out there that helps women my age with diagnostic and treatment of cancer?

I am 30 and don't qualify for help from most of the programs due to my age. My mother had breast cancer and my great grandmother had a tumor removed from her breast, so it seems to run in my family. I need to find out if it is cancer and get the ball rolling on treatment as soon as I can but I am also batteling eith a brain tumor and can't work so funds are very tight.

OH MY GOSH - you have really taken a huge hit! I am so sorry for your diagnoses.

Here in the twin cities of Minnesota, I go to a young breast cancer survivor support group, which is specifically for women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. About half of us have young children... About half of us are very active to athletic... At 42, I'm in that weird transition zone between being a young adult with cancer and being old. It's very strange. There are several great programs for people who are 40 or younger... I received my diagnosis at 41. Alas....

      Check out this link: http://www.youngsurvival.org/
      And this one: http://stupidcancer.com/

From those two, I think you'll get connected to some great support and resources for young people struggling with cancer.

      I hope this helps.

      Best wishes.

Reading your question I am not sure you have been diagnosed with cancer but may have some concerns with one of your breasts. It sounds like to me you need to get a diagnosis of yes or no. Here in Indy the little red door helps women with mammagrams and biopsies.
There also may be some studies being done in your area that will have funding. I know one study here they were having high risk women take tomaxifen (sp?) Good luck.

Thank you everyone for your input and response. I am happy to report that I found a hospital near by that will do the diagnostic ultrasound and they gave me a price that we are able to afford. My appointment is set for 2/13/12 and then the results will be sent to the doctor who ordered the test. Not sure what to expect after that but am hoping for the best.
