I don't know of any that limit themselves to cancer patients. If the patient is medically disabled (i.e. unable to shop for food and cook) and he/she meets the income requirements, the patient would qualify for Meals on Wheels). Some local groups, typically affiliated with a church, may provide this service on an as needed basis. And there is huge market for food delivery from restaurants and caterers. Just google meal dlivery and then add your town or zip code.

It depends on where you live....contact the ACS in your area....

The resources link at the top of the page will bring back some resources links for services in your area by zip code. Click that and see what you get, you can call the American Cancer Society 800#listed in that link and they will look up what they have in your area, if anything.

Nancy's suggestion is a good one too, google it with your zip.

http://www.lotsahelpinghands.com is a website where the patient or caregiver (or someone acting on their behalf) can set up needs/requests and invite people they know to view and sign up to fulfill the patient's family's requests. This may not be what you had in mind but it's a good solution if you have a lot of people asking "What can I do?" My family had homemade meals delivered to us three nights a week for many months using this website.

If you have a social worker at your cancer center, they can also refer you to different options available in your area. My social worker applied for the Ellie Fund in Mass. I will get 8 meals (2-3 servings each meal) delivered for free in Feb and March, along with home cleaning services for 4 visits, 3 hours each. I'm waiting to hear it they are able to provide a grocery store gift card for my 3rd option as well (a gas card is another choice).
