Is there an organization that can help us pay off our vehicle?

We are in very dire financial condition. Our home is being foreclosed and the utilities are in the rears. There are good people trying to help us with all of that but we need our vehicle and would like to know if someone could help us pay the loan off.

This seems to be a common theme among all of us. I was aided by the salvation army with my utility bills. It took a few well placed phone calls. You might try looking into a local church which may be able to help with your car payment. None of these things happened on the first call. You have to be determined and make a real effort to get their attention. Always remember that is what they are there for to help people with their suffering. Unfortunately most of the suffering these days are related to financial matters. Keep the faith.

I'm sorry for your financial worries. That's an experience I have heard many times from families going through cancer, and we're going through it ourselves in dealing with the chronic health issues. I have not seen anything to help with paying for a vehicle, but there are usually plenty of resources around in case you find yourself stuck without a ride to the cancer center, driving to the grocery store, and so on. One of these resources is the American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery program. http://www.cancer.org/Treatment/SupportProgramsServices/road-to-recovery Maybe they can put you in touch with other resources for transportation and help with errands. Good luck.

Don't know of an organization that will pay your car note, but I suggest you go to www.giveforward.com. and put up a free fundraiser. Many cancer patients go to this site and then link it to your facebook so that others can donate. There are a lot of people, philanthropists, who go to this site to donate money and then write the donation off. The site is great and I have had patients get 2 thousand in a week. You can make flyers as well, asking people to go to your page on the site and donate. Many put the flyers up in their church or local supermarkets. Good luck!

I want to suggest to you a wonderful non-profit organization that sends unused and donated gift cards to people battling cancer. I learned about it through this whatnext website.

http://www.cancercardxchange.org/ by Emily Thomas. Click on referrals for instructions on how to request a gift by email or mail. Give them suggestions for what types of cards you could use. Every little bit helps.

Also, if anyone has any unused gift cards with a balance laying around, for stores that you won't use. maybe they can make use of them, combined with all the other cards they receive.
