• It's been almost 1 year since I was diagnosed with tumor. It grew within 6 months. My urologist will do another MRI in 2 months. Tumor is in very center of left kidney and dr wants to let it grow more. Has anyone had this happen with their dr?

    It's been almost 1 year since I was diagnosed with tumor. It grew within 6 months. My urologist will do another MRI in 2 months. Tumor is in very center of left kidney and dr wants to let it grow more. Has anyone had this happen with their dr?

      You said you were diagnosed with a tumor. What tests did you have to diagnose cancer? Others have given you the right advice: move quickly to experts. Take your husband with you to ensure you don't miss something. I'm sorry you're going through this.

      I had a Ct scan and it showed 11mm lesion primary for renal cell cancer. Then MRI showing multilocular cystic lesion, multiple enhancing septations. Bosniak class 3 renal cyst. 3rd MRI after 6 months show multilocular partly cystic enhancing mass involving the inferior pole that increased in size. (So there was changes in 6 months) I am due for another MRI beginning of jan.

      Although I see that you have an appointment with your husband's doctor, please go ahead and get scheduled with a surgical oncologist at a National Cancer Institute-associated Cancer Center for a third opinion. Large medical centers have surgeons who specialize in kidney cancer, and yours is a complex case.
