Has anyone heard the commercial and the effect of Januvia on pancreatic cancer. I just asked Dr. and my husband was diagnosed in Dec 2007 with pancreatic cancer. According to physician he started Januvia in Jan 2007 and was diagnosed 11 mos later. Is this worth calling the toll free number. He took Januvia until April 2009

I have not seen that. However, I think if you were interested in pursuing something like that, it would be judicious to consult with your own attorney to see what they think about it, rather than responding to an ad. If your husband is going to be dealing with pancreatic cancer that has metastasized, that seems like an awful lot to take on in addition to his struggle with cancer.

There's just no way to know... I suppose there's no harm in calling. But please be cautious and protective of your time and money. I have heard about the higher rate of pancreatic cancer with this drug. But that does not mean that a lawsuit will necessarily be lucrative....

BE CAREFUL! PLEASE be careful! If you have a trusted attorney, I think that FreeBird gives great advice in suggesting you ask what they think about it.

So, this just makes me want to say again - please please be careful! Protect you and your family and your husband from predatory lawyers who might be looking to swindle money from you.

      Best wishes.

Linda2010, To date, there is no proof that Januvia is the threat it is depicted in those commercials. Do not fall for that bull. Always check out medications on the FDA website. If you type in the drug on the homepage search box, any issue, recall, or blackbox warning will come up. I see those commercials all the time for meds still on the market and some taken off that shouldn't have been. Best of luck, Carm RN.

I spoke to an attorney recently as my husband had gall bladder surgery in May of 2012 and had an MRI and all was clear except the gall stones. In July 2012 his endocrinologist was prescribed him Victoza (a similar drug to Januvia.. stimulate pancreas for diabetics). January 2013 my husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer with a 7cm tumor.

The attorney referred me to an attorney who specializes in drug class action suits, who felt my husband was a perfect case study, due to the U/S and MRI of a clear abdomen 6 months before diagnosis and before victoza. I am joining the class action suit. As this is too much to be a coincident.
