Our best to you one your surgery, We have several people on the site that have and/or are still on immunotherapy. A few I know are doing well on it.

Hi Joyce, i have been getting Opdivo for more than 5 years. I have done much better on it than on traditional chemo. I feel pretty good on it. There is little that I want to do that I am unable to do.

      Good luck!!!

Like live with nicer I’ve been on immunotherapy for more than 5 years with minimal side effects. When it works, it works. Keep strong and God bless

I was on Keytruda (clinical trial) and it was incredible!. I will be starting a year of Imfinzi soon. Side effects were tolerable before and hoping for same. Good luck to you!

I’m currently taking Imfinzi for 1 year. I’ve already had chemo and radiation and so far side effects are minimal. I have scans scheduled in Nov to see if all has worked. Good luck with your treatment.

Hi Joyce, thanks for asking your question. My wife began with traditional chemotherapy-Alimta, and Carboplatin. Those were rendered to be ineffective with second scan for her. We approached oncologist about possibilities of being infused with either Keytruda or Opdivo through communicating with others on this website. I also had her tumors tested through this communication also. Fortunately we have a doctor that will listen to us.

My wife's cocktail consists of Keytruda, continuation of both Alimta and Carboplatin. The introduction of Keytruda has been effective with treating and maintaining her lung cancer. I do not believe she would be doing as well had she continued strictly with the chemotherapy. The best of luck with your chosen path of treating your cancer.

Remember we are all individuals, have different reactions, require different treatments and have different outcomes. Likewise, our cancers are also different and as unique as we are. Please keep us informed.

Wow, @wmsavs, it is GREAT to read that you and your wife asked about immunotherapy and mutation testing as a result of WhatNext!! That's exciting and means the time we spend here really does make a difference for some people. Thank you for your post. I'm so glad that your wife is benefiting from the "trio". I've heard really good things about treating lung cancer that way.
