    Just dropping in

Tomorrow I finally have my bronchoscopy. I am still nervous and scared. I hope everything goes O.K. They are doing a fiber optic down my airway to get to the mass in my lung to biosy . This has taken a extra month to have this done. I was first sent to a Pulmonary Doctor to have this done. When I saw her she sent me to a lung specialist. Took 25 days more before I could get in to see him. I thought I was going to him for the biopsy. NO! He said why are you here and said Pulmonary does this and sent me back. Another 10 days for that appt. and she said she sent me there to do surgery and remove it. Huh! We need to know what this is first. Glad she isn't the one doing this procedure. Also waiting this long for this to be done has prolonged my treatment for the colon cancer and just recently I have started to have blood again when I wipe my self. I hope this hasn't given my colon cancer time to grow more. So here I go again into the unknown. Wish me luck that this mass isn't cancer too!

It just drives me nuts when that happens about sending you back and forth from one doctor to another and then they act like they don't know why you're there. We hope you do well with it and get started quickly.

Gizz - It sounds like you need to find a new pulmonologist that knows how to communicate with other doctors so that you can get the treatment within an acceptable period of time. I can only imagine the frustration you endured. Lots of hope and prayers from here in GA for a successful procedure so that you may get on with your Colon treatment. Keep in touch.

Thank-you all for giving me some good thoughts. But the procedure didn't happen, the machine broke down, and now I am waiting for a call to reschedule.

Gizz, I am so sorry that you have suffer yet another delay. I had an 11 mm lung nodule - it shrank a little bit with chemo so my treatment team "assumed" that it was cancerous (based on its appearance on my scans) and zapped it with SBRT radiation. That was 4 years ago.

Is your nodule extremely large or near your airway so that surgery is the only option? SBRT radiation is frequently used for solitary lung nodules.
