    Lets Have Some Fun

Halloween is just around the corner. I love Halloween and I LOVE scary movies. Some of us will be stuck in the house this year dealing with chemo side effects. So maybe we can offer some scary movies ideas for you to watch to help pass the time. My all time favorite is the 1978 version of Dawn of the Dead. Not sure why because it's not a very good movie. My second favorite is Friday the 13th. What is your favorite scary movie?

      Cape Fear
They are suspenseful, but probably not scary (gory) in your sense.

the original Halloween is great. Rosemary's Baby is super creepy. Wrong Turn was good. And yes, the original Friday the 13th was great as well. And the Exorcist was awesome!

Anything Zombie. I like the newer Dawn of the Dead. I haven't seen the 1978 version yet. Any of the "___ Days Later" ones. I love those! I'm totally into The Walking Dead right now. :) Can't go bad with a zombie flick.

The Exorcist scared the crap out of me! But, I'm a chicken when it comes to scary movies. When I was younger, my brothers used to come in my room and scare me all the time. And they would always watch Rod Serling's Night Gallery, which I would try not to watch, but would. I had nightmares! Good luck with a scary movie choice!

Your dress up picture reminded me of Psycho-- where Norman dresses up like his mother.

But I'll go with the old goody The Exorcist

or The Thing. I'm a John Carpenter fan.

Well here go the old generation gap. I like the vincent Price movies he did of Edgar Allen Poe stories. Boris Karlof, Petr Lorey, Vincent Price, all the ole scary actors. But my favorite movie is a bit of a fun thing called the RAVEN, Has all the old actors in it. Now it is a spoof on scary movies, but if you should have a moment to watch it, it will bring you a giggle.

      A few responses:

Spunky, Seven is a GREAT movie "What's in the box?"

Modern, I LOVE Repo the Genetic Opera. Not sure if I'm in the minority or not but I think Paris Hilton was AWESOME. Paul Sorvino was great too. My favorite character was the Grave Robber.

Nance, I love the first Halloween. The guy who plays Michael is Nick Castle. He's attending a convention that I'm planning to go to next year so I'll get a chance to meet him. Rosemary's Baby is a CLASSIC.

Lira, A girl after my own heart!!! Zombies movies have always be my favorite sub-genre. I can't believe you haven't see Dawn of the Dead. You can't be a zombie fan and not be a George Romero fan. After all, he is the Godfather of ALL Zombies. Zombies as we know today all started with his classic, Night of the Living Dead. He also wrote and directed, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Land of the Dead, Diary of the Dead and Survival of the Dead. He's currently working on a movie called The Zombie Autopsies.

Packerbacker, I can't believe I skipped The Exorcist. It's definitely in my Top 5!! When she spider walks down the stairs......get's me every time.

Freebird, I'm a John Carpenter fan as well. I had the opportunity to meet him a couple of years ago and passed on it. (I know....let the lashing begin)

Jess, the classic's set the stage for what we have today. I don't think I've seen Raven, I'll be sure and check that one out.

Thanks for all the great responses.

Heidi, The Others was a GREAT movie. The Village was pretty good but I thought the ending was a little disappointing. Signs was really good. Storm of the Century....I love watching this on cold winter days. Especially if it's snowing outside. I absolutely love Stephen King miniseries. This is a great one. My favorite is The Stand.
