    Liver metastases

Embarking on a new protocol and wondering if anyone has experienced Erbitux and how well (or not) it worked for them. What has been the experience with side effects? Really weary of this roller coaster and thinking I should just let it go, enjoy some quality of life for a while before it consumes me. Does this sound familiar?

I've been on erbitux since January. For most of the time that I've been on erbitux I've also been on an antibiotic. The main side effect for me was really dry skin. My doctor let me stop the antibiotic and that seemed to help the dry skin problem. Recently had a really bad skin breakout. I'm back on the antibiotic and I seemed to better. I'm having a PT scan on Monday so I'll know then whether or not the erbitux is still working. It was on my last scan.

      Hope you do well.

Thanks so much Mary U55 I've been warned that a skin rash is the most likely side effect. Reading through the long list online I already have so many areas that are compromised it makes me nervous. So glad to hear that it is working for you. My oncologist also is offering me a "clinical trial" of Impruine and I feel reluctant to start that too, I think I'd rather see what the Erbitux does by itself before adding more to the mix. Have you been offered that option too?

I had liver mets twice. Had shaped beam radio surgery both times. Took the rumors (3each time) away. I have had 5 recurrences altogether and have now been cancer free for 5 years. I also had erbutux the dry dry skin was the worst

I have not been offered Impruine. I think you are wise to try one thing at a time.

Thank you Jane - I haven't been offered beam radio surgery but will certainly ask about it, That sounds very encouraging. Congrats on being ca free for so long. That's great. May it continue for a very long time.
