I've had this surgery twice now. First was Nov. 2011 - partial radical vulvectomy on the left, with lymph node removal from both groin areas. The second surgery was Oct. 22, 2012 which I am recovering from. This was a reoccurance of the squamous cell ca so this surgery was to take more tissue along with about a centimeter of urethra and one lymph node on the left that was positive per a PET scann. I think the Dr. said that there isn't anymore vulva tissue on the left to take. She did reconstruction of the area and I am healing up very well. I'm happy to share and would like to share with others who are having the same or similar issues. They are recomending radiation next.

Ladies like you I had vulva cancer in 2012 I have had a recurrence. The Plastic Surgeon now want to so a flap taking skin from my left leg to use in the vaginal area. The Cancer Surgeon also think I may lose my urethra. With that thought I am really at a loss to have this done. Also had radiation this past summer and I feel that was a mistake all it did was damage my skin. Anyone having these problems?
