I can't tell you what the protocol is for that, sorry. But I just wanted to wish you the best in your second, or is this the third, fight with this. Someone has probably had this done and will have some information for you. Good luck to you!

I am sure your doctor will be able to explain his plans and why he have chosen this treatment....There are several option and combination but the important is for you to understand what he proposes to you and be convinced that this is the best possible to kill cancer definitely from your body.....if you need a second and third opinion go for them till you are comfortable with what you are going to use in your fight.......you can ask your doctors what they think about gene mutation test....it can be very helpful to identify the mutations of your tumor and the drugs that could be used as well as available clinical trials....I did my one in Foundation One and they tested more than 250 gene mutations and suggested drugs, treatments, clinical trials etc....additionally you can discuss with your doctors what they think about testing you for Lynch Syndrome.... all this information may be very helpful to determine your treatment and next steps...Hope that helps...wishing you all the best...God bless you and continue blessing all of us

I have had recurrences 4 times and seen many, many oncologists. I am now cancer free and have been for almost 3 years. I had shaped beam radiosurgery (a focused form of radiation) that took out 6 tumors in the liver and 1 in my lung. It was easy. A little tired and a little nausea but nothing like surgery. Check it out at Shands Cancer Center at the University of Florida or the University of Rochester in Rochester New York

Have a recurrence again after the liver resection which was the third recurrence - this time it has come as two spots in liver within two months of the second liver resection and one spot is actually three spots together !

Planning on microwave ablation tomorrow and then what !.

My mets so far have been confined to the liver - bit I seem to be getting new mets every few months now ! I have had two liver resections, one Rfa , one ire and now a microwave ablation . I was Dx December 2011. Had Folfox and erbitux full treatment and an additional erbitux maintenance .

I don't know what further to keep the recurrence In check ? Any other treatments - alternative etc that can delay recurrences air keep the ctc at bay and stop formation of new tumours or atleast delay it for a year or two
