Metastasized Prostate Cancer in my Lymph Nodes &Bones(Stage IV), receiving Chemotherapy for 6 treatments to treat the bone Cancer.

I have decided & started all the preliminary information, so that when Chemo is over we get serious. I am already registered with Mayo, Rochester & Cancer Treatment Center’s of America, downtown Chicago. I have patient numbers & am in their computers. They both want me to take my last 2 Chemo Treatments before I transfer. Finances are killing me, so it seems, faster than the Cancer. Any answers about how to get financial help or benefits? Greg

Call the American cancersociety and the patient advocate website. CTCA...that will cost you. They are a for-profit based hospital and are known to be costly... Sometimes unnecessarily. Best of luck to you.

Each of the places that you mentioned probably has a social worker, insurance coordination, and a financial aid advisor. Plus the pharmaceutical companies provide low or zero copays for their medicines if you don't have insurance or have become unable to work.

Just focus on your medical situation and reach out to the staff to help you with the financial part. Best wishes for treatment success.
