Hello. What pain medication is she using? There are different medications to try, increased dosages, and there are other methods to find relief. Here's some info from the National Cancer Institute http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/coping/paincontrol2012

Definitely she should talk to the doctor to see that the pain is taken care of so she doesn't suffer unnecessarily.

My dad is using extended-release morphine, twice a day, which works very well for him.

I would suggest she ask her oncologist for a referal to an orthopedist. I have knee pain that was keeping me from performing the weight bearing exercise my oncologist recommended to help prevent osteoporosis as a side effect of my cancer treatment. She referred me to an orthopedist who gave me a cortisone shot that allow me to do the exercises, so every body is happy.
