My Sister was over to visit and asked me about my tumor, when I said OH, you mean Tim?

Tim the Tumor......She thinks I'm crazy for naming my tumor. Have any of you done this? I have a friend that named her fake boobs too, is it crazy?

NOTHING is crazy when we go through cancer and its treatments. I didn’t name my tumor, but I named one wig (not very original name: Wiggie). But why Tim?

Bug, thanks! It didn’t answer to its name, unfortunately.

I never named anything related to cancer, but I definitely don't think it is crazy. We all do whatever we need to do to get through everything. If it makes you happy, do it.

There is nothing wrong with naming your tumor. It's just whatever you can do to get through cancer.
Heck, men name their organs, so why not name your tumor?

I have a friend who kept calling my cancer "the alien". I'd just shake my head & smirk at him.

I had a tumor that raised its ugly head and needed to be dealt with. Its name was Wayward Tumor.

I ended up naming it The Lunatic! I was having an MRi between the first and second surgery to see if it had grown and I asked to listen to classic rock. The Pink Floyd song Brain Damage came on it kept saying the lunatic is in my head. I was laying there thinking how appropriate. I almost started laughing but remembered I had to stay still. I told my sister afterwards and we started calling my tumor The Lunatic. When the doctor who was putting me to sleep came in to talk to me before the surgery we told him the story and he said well let’s go make you comfortably numb. Haha! I appreciated the sense of humor.
