another thing - ask your health care team about using glutamine as a sumpplement - this can be purchased as a powder from many health food stores. you mix about 10 g in a cup of water... stir... drink up! it'll be a slurry, and it doesn't have much taste. but, this is one supplement that has actually made it through clinical trials and been shown to reduce side effects like mouth sores. i slacked off on glutamine during two of my 16 rounds of chemo, and those two rounds SUCKED WAY MORE than the other 14... i had horrid horrid mouth sores ... and had to use the lidocaine stuff in order to be able to teach my class and eat. it was awful... i feel for you!!!! i hope that you are able to find something to help.
