NewsWeek's list of the 10 Best Hospitals in The World - Is yours on the list?

Of all the industries on the threshold of transformation, none is more politically contentious, tightly regulated, scientifically significant or economically important than health care. Hospitals around the globe will drive—and be shaped by—much of this disruption.Newsweek has spent the better part of nine decades covering every aspect of health care, and we are committed to helping our readers make sense of the changes sweeping this industry. As part of that commitment, we partnered with Statista Inc., a global market research and consumer data company, to develop a groundbreaking ranking of the world’s best hospitals.

Interesting. Nope, my hospital isn't on the list, but that's okay :)

I do think they named some excellent hospitals. Interesting that the ones we usually hear about as best for cancer are oddly missing from the overall best, I think.

Well I looked at the list and it was interesting. I knew my hospital would not be on the list because it is not on the top ten list in the US . It is among the best in California however and that is good enough for me.

I think cutting a list down to 10 of the best in the entire World would be a hard task. And this list isn't restricted to just for cancer, but for all health conditions.

Because this is such a huge amount of hospitals, I don't really take much trust in this list. I do look for the list for my state and that gives me a better analysis of local and not so local hospitals that make the list.

Neither of my top two NYC hospitals (MSKCC and NY-Presbyterian) are listed, nor is MD Anderson, considered the top cancer hospital in our country. Oh well. I concur with cllinda.

Mine is #4, Johns Hopkins. US News and World Report does rank by specialties. Note that all surveys use different measuring criteria, so if you are seeking a hospital for treatment or second opinion, it's best to rely on more than one survey.

Surprise, surprise Mass Gen.always was the best.I believe it's not the place ,but who you' re involved with. And there's not too many out there that are loving.caring and compassionate It's all about money and insusance. Sorry for being truthful insteadof being positive.I see the whole picture. If you see both side I find that being wise.I've been on both sides of the field and involved with many people in my life. Some have move negative in their lives, but are survivors through the grace ogf God.He suffered and we do to in this world. He overcame and we will too.

@PaulineJ, I partly agree with what you wrote. It definitely depends on who your doctor is, regardless of the facility. My hospital never comes out in the top whatever, even though it is an NCI-designated cancer center, but I wouldn't trade my oncologist or any other doctor I have seen through that institution for all of the money in the world. Every one of them has looked far beyond money and insurance ... beyond just my disease or complaint ... and treated me as a person.
