    No question just venting

This morning as I was leaving radiation I was in a car accident, I'm fine but the back of my car isn't, the girl who hit me decided to go through the stop sign without stopping & thought it was also ok to drive without a license. I thank god it wasn't any worse, Just thought I would share this with you all, thanks....

Does anyone else feel like a magnet for bad things like this to come at them? When I was in the middle of treatments, at my sickest, our basement flooded during a downpour. Seems like we should be allowed one thing at a time doesn't it?

I hope you have good insurance! My husband decided to try to drive through grove a trees about a month ago (accident). It turned out to be a good thing. We got far more from insurance than we expected and had a great road trip driving a newer one down from Anchorage. But he scared me when the car was towed in crumpled up! One reason I tell my family how much I love them - I am glad you are OK. The car can be fixed. Tracy

Glad you are ok. I drive a lot for my work and see some pretty horrible drivers doing some pretty stupid things. Running stop signs is one of the worst.

I'm glad to hear you're okay.
One of my pet peeves is that 99% of the people don't don't know how to drive. When they're stopped at a stop sign or light in back of someone they are suppose to be able to see your back tires and muffler. That gives enough space in case you have to stop suddenly also,if the person in front of you has to stop suddenly. But 99 % either laugh or don't care or even don't know this.Because I once had two stickers on my bumper that said :One side >Get close to God not my bumper. And the other one said >If you don't see my back tires and muffler you're too close.I finally had them taken off, because hardly anyone cared.Like you,it happened to me once with a girl flying into me that said she didn't see me and was sorry..And a few times of getting hit in the back.Once it was a cab driver that got in patient at the light and hit me.A good thing I wasn'close to the car in front of me because there would have been a chain af cars getting hit.And I agree with Geg....one thing at a time would do for us.

As for everything happening at once. My family has been forbidden from holding family reunions in the hospital. My first bout with cancer. On the 4th of July I threw-up my feeding tube (it was one that goes through the nose) and it caught on my tongue. My daughter went to park the car and she met my niece who had taken my nephew to the emergency room. Then this time it was this time it was triple disaster cubed. It started out when the pipes broke and caused the ceiling to fall and hit me on the shoulder, neck and wrist. My lungs filled up with plaster dust. I had to move everything out of my apartment so they could fix the ceiling I had to go to my brother's while the ceiling was fixed. My brother hurt his back while trying to help me. I developed a really bad chest congestion and had to be on antibiotics. Then I started bleeding, I thought I had hurt myself in the move but I went to the Dr. And ultra-sound revealed turmors. Meanwhile my nephew was taken to the ICU. My lungs were not getting better so I had to have an X-ray. the x-ray showed a blood clot in the lung. My neice who had taken me to the Dr. got a call that her mother (my sister-in-law) was very ill. My sister-in-law was admitted to the ICU with septic shock. The Dr. had me admitted to start medication for the blood clot. The gynecological onconlogist, had further tests done at the hospital and determined that the tumors were cancerious and I needed an hysterectomy So now we have three members of the family in the same hospital, I am in the hospital because I have a lung full of plaster and a blood clot, injuries (no broken bones but arthritis setting in ) and cancer. When the Dr. came in with the results of the pathology I asked her what kind of cancer is it. She said both. OK That is about two thirds of the bad things that were going on at that time. However things are definately getting better

cris I am so sorry to hear about your accident. But, isn't that the way people are driving now a days. Run the stop signs and red lights with no regard for the people they might or have caused an accident with. If she didn't have insurance, good luck trying to collect. I am glad you are okay. Here were I live all the I-5 traffic both north and south bound has been diverted through our town because of the I-5 bridge collapse into the river thanks to an oversized load hitting part of the main structure of the bridge. These people run the lights and block the intersections so the opposite traffic can't go and it doesn't help that the county has the signals all synced wrong. What a mess. Most of the uninsured in this county that get into accidents are illegal aliens from Mexico and I guess they think they don't have to follow our laws. They look right at you as they run the stop sign and we have almost picked a couple of driving down our local road out of our housing section. Makes me angry because it causes my insurance rates to go up. Hope you are okay and do not suffer any repercussions from it later. Take care of yourself and make sure you follow through your insurance company and let them go after the person that hit you. She was probably texting or talking on the cell phone when she hit you. If was a betting person I would almost bet that is what happened if she was young? Good luck and get yourself checked out by a doctor. Guess I am venting too.

I could get really long-winded about bad drivers. I would be extremely upset if I were in your position. Somehow the onus is put on US to watch out for the jerks and always drive defensively. I live and drive in one of the worst traffic area of the nation.

I'm happy you are OK and glad you shared.Keep calm.

Bummer Cris! I'm glad you are okay. That is the important thing. It seems like I always have a story. Just before I was scheduled for my double mastectomy, I found out that Xanax and I are not friends. As I was driving home, I was a few houses away from mine, I felt an electric shock go up the back of my neck. I blacked out and met two trees the hard way. I was driving a long bed Dodge Ram truck and I totaled it. Apparently, I hit the gas when I blacked out and drove off the road and into the woods near a neighbor's house. I took his mailbox with me. The radiator was inches away from the firewall of the truck. The first responders said there were no stop marks and that it was a miracle I survived. One of the paramedics told me that God was showing me a sign that he is not ready for me yet. I believe him. So many wonderful people stopped at the scene and asked me if I needed a blanket or a phone. Complete strangers were so kind. It was heartwarming. My insurance agent was wonderful. She did my part of the paperwork for me. All I had to do was sign it. My husband picked up a new truck at the Dodge dealership. My surgery was pushed back and the bright red seatbelt mark across my neck (I am very short) has finally faded. I was purple from my neck to my waist for awhile. That went away amazingly fast. The doctors were shocked at how fast I healed. God certainly got my attention and I am listening. Cris, I am thrilled you are okay. Greg, if it isn't one its SIX. I agree with you Tracy, its just a vehicle and, I LOVE YOU ALL.

Wishing you the best..not the best timing, but is there ever a good time for this sort of thing!?! They were probably texting! Just glad to hear that you are not hurt, but make sure you get checked out anyway for potential back or neck issues. Glad you had us to vent to!

Good grief! So sorry that happened to you. Don't you wish you could just wave your little finger and she...the jerk...would have to take your treatments for you. Now that would be some justice!! More and more I notice really reckless drivers out there.

That's ridiculous! and you'd be surprised by how many are doing this and without insurance. They should be hit(no pun intended) with a hefty fine that will not be let up on until it is paid, or not be able to get a license for 5 years. They could kill somebody. I was in a bike accident with my son yesterday and have many scrapes and bruises, I though I displaced my elbow, and the blood from my knee was down to my ankle by the time I got home. Not to mention the ribs hurting from the handlebars going into the right side(the surgery side)of my upper chest. Other scrapes and bruises down the right side. I was behind him and he always has to be too close, I tell him many times to leave more room but it doesn't sink in. Anyway he decided to make a right hand turn right in front of me! I told him he wasn't getting a drivers license until he was 21 or he will kill somebody! Not funny! He does have some issues but is slowly and I mean slowly growing out of them. I hope these next 4 years of high school go by very slowly. Really sorry to hear about your accident on top of everything else. kimg-I'm with SueRae
