Oh the PAIN! The Agony! Will I survive?

Well, it's that time again for checkups. And I'm getting rechecked for both my Thyroid Cancer as well as my Cancer De Butt.

So many blood tests, injections, and even an IV for my CT with contrast.

    Next 2 weeks

    Four (4) blood draws
    3 Injections
    Swallowing a radioactive pill

Then you have to add in my extreme case of Scanxeity

I'm two (2) years out from the butt cancer and one (1) year for the Thyroid.

Darn! Wasting all of my time here posting this message when I could be using the same time worrying. I need to focus!!

Ugh! We understand. I pull out the ipod and Depak Chopra meditation downloads before scans. It distracts me. I learned a new breathing technique yesterday at my BC exercise class. Take three slow, normal breaths, on the last exhale, hold for the count of three, then repeat. Can't hurt.

Harry would you like me to send you a link on global warming? That is my current stressor . I didn't even think about my last tests because my son found some articles on global warming.
seriously I will pray for your clean scans

Well, if it's any consulation, you don't mention the low-iodine diet for the thyroid test, so that's good because that's a hard one to follow (not to mention being hypothyroid for a couple of weeks). My son especially enjoyed that part. It was like having PMS, Menopause... all rolled into one.

I'm doing the LID and it is as toy say, soon much fun! Last time I did this, I did the hypothyroid thing for 3 weeks. Which was terrible. This time I'm going the thyrogen injection way, so I don't have to stop taking my synthroid. That's what all the blood tests are for.

Things to do to keep your mind off it all: predict who will throw their hat into the presidential arena next. Is Pluto a planet? Who will win the All-Star game tonight and who cares? Is Justin Bieber really all that? Why is Hollywood remaking Spiderman...again? Those have GOT to less scary than scanxiety. Mostly. : ) Seriously, though, hope all your tests come out good. Make sure you study!

You will do just fine and will feel relief once all these tests are over. I wish you best results. Worrying only causes more stress, so find something you really enjoy & dive in.

Hey Harry.....why don't you bolt and go on a cruise....lol
Hope it all is OK.....Probably is and we Get TOO many Invasive look sees and they are bound to find something. I only go now IF some major pain or symptom lasts a few weeks and mostly they all just go back where they came from. I believe if they took the average dolt off the street and gave them Pet Scans and Gene Tests and Major scopes and blood tests they would find more than one problem and then start to treat.....Maybe they look too hard....just musing....

Buckeye Shelby the 2016 Presidential Race is indeed scarier than scans. In fact when I was told I would probably live to vote in the 2016 Elections it kinda put a damper on the good news.
